We invite you on a joyful journey back to the body in nature, discovering who we are as human beings. In this retreat, two passionate teachers will combine their skills and knowledge to create an extraordinary experience for you. The practices of Tantra, Yoga and Contact Improvisation, will be enhanced by immersion in nature.

This is a sensual, non-sexual, clothing optional (in designated spaces) retreat. It’s helpful if you’ve done some personal growth/awareness work. Experience with contact improv is not necessary. Instruction throughout the week will progressively guide you into the places of depth, power and play — including skills for setting clear boundaries and developing conscious consent. Everyone’s at choice, in all events throughout the week, as we create a conscious, loving community, that honors each person’s unique unfolding.

The Goddess Garden Retreat Center is located in the town of Cahuita, a small community in the south of Costa Rica, 40 km south of Puerto Limon. Cahuita National Park is the main attraction here, where you can watch White Faced Monkeys, Howler monkeys, Iguanas and more, just a few steps away from its white sand beach.
We are 20km away from Puerto Viejo, where you may find boutiques filled with local handycrafts, its black beach or the famous Salsa Brava and 5 minutes away, the white beach of Cocles, a surfer paradise. 10km further south you will enjoy the beautifull bay of Punta Uva and where the roads ends, starts Gandoca with the little fisher town of Manzanillo and its breath taking white beaches.
Cahuita’s ethnic base is of Jamaican origin but you can find Italians, Germans, Swiss, and North-Americans. As a result of this melange, there is a great variety of good restaurants along the small unpaved streets of what seems more like a village than a town in the eye of a tourist.
Facilitator Biographies:
Kristen Chamberlin, MS, LMT, SEP, is a Massage & Somatic Therapist, parent and dancer, with 25 years experience in private practice, retreat facilitation and training. She directs the Somatic Center (somatic-center.com) in Northampton, MA with a focus on embodied approaches to healing; stress related medical conditions, trauma and Intimacy and Body-Awareness issues, drawing on Somatic Experiencing, Massage, Mindfulness, Himalayan Tantra, Contact Improv dance and Yoga. She is core teaching faculty at Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment, and is founder of Tantric Ground (http://www.meetup.com/Tantric-Ground-Northampton/), a local Tantra learning community based on a direct lineage from Northern India.
Garrell Bevirt is a student, practitioner, and teacher of yoga and tantra. For the last two years he has been immersed in a full time, live in tantra/yoga/meditation/permaculture mentorship with Swami Ravi Rudra Bharati (Rudolph Ballentine, MD), who himself underwent twenty years of intensive training with his own guru, Swami Rama. Garrell has lived in community at Kalani in Hawaii, Easton Mountain in Albany, NY and now resides in and oversees Dancing Shiva Ashram and Retreat Center in the mountains of Western North Carolina. He has co-facilitated or assisted in workshops in Hawaii, North Carolina, South Carolina, Shalom Mountain and Tripura Sundari in upstate NY He is renowned for his high octane energy and his engaging personality.
