COURSE DESCRIPTION

Deepen your relating skills using fun, easy co-regulation practices that rewire your nervous system for more comfortable, embodied connection. We can have embodied connection with each other even online or with physical distancing. Embodied resonance and attunement nurture our nervous systems, our immune system and our mental health. Healthy embodied relating is nourishing whether we can touch or not. This course offers skills and practices that will help you drop into your body and feel more connected with others. This work integrates new information from interpersonal neurobiology with established somatic practices.

BUDDY PRACTICE

Structured, intentional buddy practice is the core of this course. It is where the embodied learning happens. We want you to experience safe, collaborative interaction with a buddy or buddies throughout this course.

Your buddy can be anyone who wants to explore this work with you online or in-person. Your buddy, or buddies do not need to sign up for the course. Choose someone with whom you feel safe enough to: speak what’s true for you, move your body, and witness them doing the same. Good friends are an ideal choice.

You will need to find 3 different 1⁄2 hr slots per module to do the exercises. Meet online or in-person with a buddy or different buddies. (Social distancing is fine.) For example, if you plan to complete this course in 12 weeks (one module every two weeks), you will meet three times in every two-week period. Of course, you may want to practice more often or to share the practices with more people ~ Please do!

IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?

  • Are you hungry for more authentic connection?
  • Tired of connections going emotionally flat online?
  • Want easy, fun exercises you can teach to others in a minute or two and  practice together?
This course is great for anyone who wants to learn simple, empowering practices that build skills for embodied connection. Whether you are retired or a student, a professional or a stay-at-home parent, you can put these skills to use with the people in your life.

You can share these practices with friends, family members, and colleagues. Therapists, coaches, teachers and other practitioners can use these exercises online or in person, to enliven sessions, deepen connection and build relating skills.

This course offers exercises for peer practice, among capable adults. It is not therapy or a source of major support in crisis situations or mental health challenges.
